Tthis tutorial will teach you how to create drop-down menus. It is very easy to create drop down menus and you can follow these steps:

  2. Then got Edit/Insert/Slice to insert a slice to the image. You can see a green slice like below. Then Right click on the slice and click on Add Pop-Up Menu
  3. menus slice

  4. Double click in the text filed under the content tab and enter the name of the menu items (e.g. Website Design).
  5. Click on the '+' symbol to add more menu items.
  6. Click on Next when you complete entering the menu items
  7. Then you will go to the Appearance tab. Here you can give the color of the text and cells and font size and specify a horizontal or vertical drop-down menu whichever you like
  8. Click on Next. You will go to the Advanced tab where you can specify the cell padding, border color and shadow.
  9. Click Next. In the position tab you can specify how you would like the drop-down menu to appear by selecting the appropriate buttons there.
  10. Click on Done.
  11. Choose Preview in Browser from File menu. Now you can see the drop down menu on rolling over the button.
  12. Then go to File/ Export and select the location you want to save them. Open the folder there you can find a file called mm_menu.js which has the code for the drop-down menus created by Fireworks. The menu items will be coded in the head content of the page.
